So, I was talked into making a vid. For The Adventures of Sean Bean and His Highway Brides The Hitcher. To "Girlfriend".

I suspect I ought to be way more ashamed of myself than I am.

This is the crap youtube version, because Firefox froze on me in the middle of uploading a slightly better-quality one to imeem. Hopefully I'll have a better one up in a few hours, on the off chance that anyone wants it. This is the imeem one, which is much brighter and more watchable.

Shall have the zombiepocalypse post up shortly, too. YAY ZOMBIES.

Still vidding. Apart from the inconvenient fact that there's no way to anchor your clips in iMovie -- bookmarks help, but it's kind of annoying as I'm not working in a linear fashion at all, but rather started with the bit that I saw most clearly in my head and then went from there, and that bit happened to be in the middle, and so dragging stuff in before it throws the whole thing off -- it's going surprisingly well. *knock wood* Not by the end of today, but by the end of this week, definitely.

Need to remember to upload my Yuletide fic, too. Hmph.

Also, LOOK WHAT IS AT THE SMITHSONIAN. :D :D :D I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT IT, YOU GUYS. I literally squealed on seeing the article in the paper yesterday. And then Mom and Doug said they had no idea what I was talking about when I started mentioning things about the war.

MOM (stage-whispering, to Doug): I have no idea what she just said.
DOUG: Don't worry, Jules. I'm sure there are at least a dozen other people out there who know what you're talking about.
ME: I hate you so much.
I've already started bugging the family to go see it with me. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT.

That's an hilarious article, though. And also gives me a little more hope that it might be very easy to pitch the 'Young Lady In Question' series -- there've been several new books on the subject come out in the past year or so (which is impressive given that until a few years ago it was pretty much just Crucible of War in non-fiction and Last of the Mohicans in fiction) and The War That Made America and now this, which seems to corroborate the observation in that Post article that, the Civil War, World War II, the Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars being pretty well-covered territory by now, people might realize that the Seven Years War is rife with possibility.

Never mind. It turns out that on this computer, ripping DVDs is EEEEEASY. HOLY CRAP THIS IS FAST. :O Trimming them down and converting them into usable formats is a pain, but still. FAAAAAAST.

Awesome. I may just have my first vid done by the end of this weekend.

Anyone know where I can find high-quality Buffy video clips? I've got a vid I'm working on, and I can rip stuff from DVD myself, but damn, it's labor-intensive.

So, uh, yeah. *cough* We'll see how this vidding thing turns out.
